A tree grows in two directions.

It grows up, where it can spread out, showing its magnificence to the world. And while it grows up and outward, it also grows down.

The roots dig through the dirt, birthing a foundation through the difficult and damp. Similar to life there are days when you simply don’t have that same amount of gusto as you would like to.

Working doesn’t excite you, or continuing a new project doesn’t seem as fulfilling as it did during the first three days.

What counts is showing up on the days when you don’t want to. When the days are difficult and not doing the work seems like the best option.

But that’s the foundation for growth. What happens behind the scenes, underneath the dirt, makes all the difference.
