Too many nights out we waste our time preparing to actually go out, and instead dressing, redressing, performing, putting on makeup, and whatever else it is that you do as a pre-night out ritual.
This follows with many things in life.
Yes, you should be dress appropriately for a job interview. Look nice for a first date. Or even making sure you have all the materials for a camping trip.
Whatever it is that you are preparing for you should always be ready yes, but don’t let the fact that you may not be fully prepared, prevent you from going in the first place.
This is not just related to appearance, but your mental space as well. If you’re nervous about meeting someone, or reaching out to a potential colleague/mentor, you should remind yourself to go as you are.
Showing your authentic self is often the best strategy you can do. This will prevent you from wondering whether or not it will work out for you, instead you choose to show up as “yourself” in whatever capacity that means, and not having the possibility of rejection conflict with your self-validation.
Most times, showing up as your authentic self is the most attractive quality people can give, whether it’s a first date, or a big business opportunity.
It’s not what you put on or how good your makeup is, but rather the energy that you give off.
