Release your inner child

At some point we’re told to stop dreaming.

Somewhere along the way, specifically entering adulthood, dreams and imagination began to become secondhand.

Schools teach this out of us in a way. Draw inside the lines, get the good grades and please the teacher.

Due to the system that we are forced to live in, our dreams inevitably start to fade.

Reality hits; taxes, rent payments, gas, groceries, mortgage, insurance. These things are all requirements for living a healthy and sustained life. But in the pursuit of them, we lose our stamina for something more.

We start to become satisfied having nice jewelry, driving fast cars, buying the nice and fancy new technology that gets released every year. And in order to keep up with these things, we have to choose where we focus our time. We choose to stop dreaming, and thinking more practically.

At some point when we were very young, we used our imaginations pretending to play cops and robbers, or dressing up as a princess.

I’m not saying to go buy a Cinderella costume and dance around the house. But rather we should start to think more, imagine, and dream all of the things that we once used to, simply for fun. There’s no age to stop dreaming, no matter how old you get.
