Typically when a door opens, there’s another chance to open it again after it has closed.
The concept of opportunity is a completely different game.
Once when the door opens, there’s just a short window you have to walk through it. Otherwise it will close its door and potentially lock itself forever.
“But what if I walk through the wrong door?”
“What if I don’t have the necessary skills for the job?”
“What happens if another door opens and I have to walk out of the one I’m already in?
Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.
There’s a million ways to psyche yourself out of thinking that you don’t have what it takes, or that you don’t need to make a decision right now.
But what’s worse than walking through one door and realizing it’s the wrong one, or completely failing. Is not taking advantage of the opportunity, and wondering what would have happened if you actually committed to one.
Thinking and making decisions are extremely important, but if you spend too much time, then likely that opportunity will be gone by the time you’ve decided you actually want to push through.
So pick a door, the worst thing that happens is that you choose to walk back out.
