Step into the unknown

Well don’t step, take a massive leap.

Today is a different type of post. It’s time to do a little more sharing.

As of today I have made my home base Boston Massachusetts, and back in April I had a strong idea as to why. Now as the months have passed I have been through many different experiences that have altered course as to my plan for moving here.

Initially I was aspiring to make moves into the publishing industry, focus my path on books and work in any way shape or form as I could, whether it be editorial, working for a publishing house, a newspaper, a magazine. Whatever it was it was meant to be strictly focused on writing.

Now after this summer I have realized I don’t necessarily want to stick to one thing.I know that I need to, but I said “goodbye” to music when I moved to Oregon for the summer. And by goodbye I mean I didn’t want to have it be a main focus in my life as much as it used to be.

Two months later I’m playing with three different bands and I played a local music festival in early September. It was still apart of my life and who I am so it was too hard to completely let it go.

With that happening, and still a strong passion for film, my aspirations can’t remain strictly in the writing realm. I ended up starting a blog that I post on every single day, I spent the summer coming up with many business ideas that I hope to see come to fruition, a clothing brand, so many possibilities. Writing is my focus, but honestly I am so interested in learning so many new things that it is hard to contain myself to one.

I have moved from one coast to another simply because I had a place to live. I don’t know what’s next, I don’t know how I’m going to get there, but what I do know is that I need to cut down on my options.

I know I can’t do it all. Not unless I choose one and eventually decide to move on.

A year ago today I was very uncertain as for what’s next for me. Today I am equally uncertain, but I have much more opportunity than I used to. I almost have too many things to do that keeps me in this weird state of limbo.

As I move into this next chapter of life I understand a couple of things. I am grateful for having more interests and opportunities available, but I am also aware that I must pick one and focus on it as much as I can than let my days go to waste just imagining what I could do.

So today is a reminder to leap as far and hard as you can, allow yourself potential and room to grow, but know that you can’t do it all, you must pick one or two things for you to do before you can truly takeoff.
