It doesn’t always go according to plan.
Life feels like one big climb after another. Once you’ve reached one peak, you inevitably fall down and descend into the valley, just to stare at the next climb wondering how you’re going to make it happen again.
Your first instinct might be to get it all over with. To continue your next climb. But sometimes the best way to heal yourself from being stuck in the valley, is to allow yourself to sit in it.
Sit in the depression, the stress, the anxiety, whatever it is that seems so daunting. The sooner you accept it, accept that you’re down at the bottom again, you allow yourself the ability to process the feelings, to truly see what you need to do to return to your normal self.
And once you wallow in it for awhile, whatever that “It” is. You might start to realize two things:
1. Once you accepted it, the view from the bottom isn’t so bad anymore.
2. It’s boring down here, so let’s start climbing again.
